Saving an Instagram Reel to your camera roll used to mean screen-recording and cropping. Not anymore. In this guide we'll walk through the fastest, cleanest way to download Instagram Reels in full HD — no watermark, no login, no app.
Before you start
Only download reels you have the right to save (your own content, or content the creator has given you permission to reuse). Respect copyright.
Step 1 — Copy the reel URL
Open the reel on Instagram (web or app), tap the three-dot menu, then Copy link. The link should look like https://www.instagram.com/reel/….
Step 2 — Paste it into the reels downloader
Open our Reels Downloader, paste the URL into the input, and press Download. The tool detects the reel automatically.
Step 3 — Pick a quality
You'll see a preview and one or more MP4 options. HD (1080p) is usually the top choice; smaller renditions appear underneath for slow connections.
Step 4 — Save the file
Click the download button. On desktop the file lands in your Downloads folder. On iOS, tap Share → Save Video. On Android, the browser saves it directly.
Common problems
- Private accounts can't be downloaded — the reel has to be public.
- If a reel just posted, wait a minute and retry — Instagram's CDN needs a moment to publish HD renditions.
- The downloader will never ask you to log in. If a site asks for your Instagram password, close it.
